Independence Day
At the Manudevi Foundation Nandurbar, we join in the nationwide celebration of Independence Day with great fervor and enthusiasm. On the 15th of August, our foundation organizes special events and activities to commemorate this significant day in Indian history. We gather together, along with our students, staff, and members of the community, to hoist the national flag and sing the national anthem with pride. International Day of Persons with Disabilities
State Tribal Development Minister and District Guardian Minister Dr. Vijaykumar Gavit appealed that all disabled people should benefit from the Central and State sponsored disability schemes.
Various programs were organized on the occasion of World Disabled Day in association with the Social Welfare Department of Zilla Parishad, Manudevi Foundation, and Nandurbar Sanchal Dudhale District Divyang Rehabilitation Center. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Dr. Supriyatai Gavit, Member of Parliament Dr. Hinatai Gavit, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Raghunath Gawde, Social Welfare Chairperson Shankar Padvi, Women and Child Welfare Chairperson Sangeeta Gavit, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Rajendra Patil, District Social Welfare Officer Devidas Nandgaonkar attended the event. , Former Divisional Social Welfare Officer Jitendra Valvi, President of District Disability Rehabilitation Center Jyoti Chaudhary, Coordinator Rajesh Chaudhary, Adv. Jayashree Valvi and others were present.
Minister Dr. Gavit said, the central and state governments are trying to bring the neglected elements of the disabled community into the mainstream and various schemes are being implemented for the disabled through the government. But still, the rate of taking advantage of these schemes is very low. Parents should go to the hospital and treat the children with disabilities who are not speaking in time so that they can be treated and speak. Camps should be organized at taluka locations to provide benefits of various schemes to the differently abled in the district so that they can benefit from the schemes of the central government and the state government. Organizations and individuals who are doing good work in the field of disability are honored with various awards by the government as an incentive, so such awards should also be taken advantage of. Organizations working in the field of disability will be pursued at the state level to get grants. So that these organizations can provide better facilities. He also said that a separate Disability Welfare Department has been established today to provide benefits of various welfare schemes to disabled citizens. On this occasion, he also appealed to the disabled persons who have not taken the UDID card, to take out the UDID card.
Camp for Disable People
MP Dr. will organize camps to accommodate every disabled person in the district in the government scheme. Through the Social Welfare Department of the Central Government, useful items like prosthetic limbs, hearing rings, bicycles, and electric bicycles are given to citizens with different types of disabilities. In order to provide the benefits of these schemes to every disabled person in the district, camps will be organized to screen the disabled at all primary health centers. According to government rules, electric cars are given to disabled persons with more than 80 percent disability. But as the number of people with disabilities is high in the district from 70 to 80 percent, electric cars will also be given to such disabled people from the social responsibility fund, said MP Dr. Gavit said.
On this occasion, the exhibition of handicrafts made by the differently abled was inaugurated by the dignitaries, and the sports competition was inaugurated. Also, UTID cards were distributed to 20 beneficiaries. Also on this occasion, the students of Muk Badhir Residential School, Waghoda, and District Divyang Rehabilitation Center Dudale presented a cultural program. A large number of students and citizens were present on this occasion.
District President Dr. Gavit said that shelters have been approved for the disabled through the Zilla Parishad and orders for the shelter scheme will be distributed to them soon. Funds for various surgeries will be made available to disabled persons from the funds of Zilla Parishad. On this occasion, he thanked the Guardian Minister for providing funds from the District Annual Plan for lift access to the disabled persons who come here because of the closed lift in the Zilla Parishad.
